Aircraft Development
Pioneering the Future of Aviation
At Birdman International, aircraft development is not just a process it’s a bold mission to redefine how the world moves. Our flagship innovation, the BI-1111 “Superbird”, is a next generation Blended Wing Body (BWB) aircraft designed to meet the real world demands of modern cargo, passenger, and civil aviation in a way no conventional aircraft can.
Designed for Performance, Built for Impact
From the beginning, our focus has been on solving long-standing challenges in aviation logistics—limited access to remote runways, high fuel costs, long turnaround times, and environmental inefficiencies. The BI-1111 is engineered to:
- Operate on short or unpaved runways
- Achieve 20% fuel savings using Open Fan Architecture (OFA) engines
- Utilize Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
- Feature rapid aft cargo loading and unloading
- Support up to 16 pallet positions and 120,000 lbs of cargo
Engineering Innovation
Our experienced engineering team—veterans from Beechcraft, Boeing, and NASA—has led the development of this aircraft using the most advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and integrated systems. With predictive maintenance tools, smart flight guidance (Alpha TAGS), and the incorporation of SkinSilver Technology, the BI-1111 isn’t just modern—it’s revolutionary.
Smart Containers Integration
Our development approach includes the creation of BI Smart Containers—GPS-enabled, climate-controlled, and sensor-integrated units that work seamlessly with the BI-1111. This allows for end-to-end cargo transparency, safety, and efficiency unmatched in today’s market.
MRO-Backed Production Strategy
To accelerate aircraft development and reduce time to market, Birdman International is acquiring FAA-certified Part 145 MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) facilities. These facilities will act as both manufacturing hubs and innovation labs, enabling in-house testing, prototyping, and early-stage production.
Toward a Global Aviation Evolution
With demand for efficient and sustainable air transport growing worldwide, the BI-1111 Superbird is positioned to unlock over 30,000 underserved airports globally, reduce transportation costs, and raise operational efficiency to new heights.
Birdman International’s aircraft development program is more than innovation—it’s a leap into the future of aviation.
